Hi all,

06 400EX it has been sitting for awhile. I can't remember if the oil tank drain bolt has a washer or not. I would hate to tighten up the bolt and it needed a washer. I don't think it had one but need assurance.

Thanks Dave

Yes the oil drain plug on the oil tank has an aluminum crush washer. The drain on the motor doesnt.

Can you buy just the washer or does it come as an assy so they can charge you a ton too much!

part # 90441-425-000 WASHER, SEALING (10MM) its like 2 bucks.

Mine was messed up, I made a gasket for mine out of cardboard.

stock tank but polished...looked great...broke off at weld all the way around the threaded portion that holds the actual drain plug (goes through the rubber gromett)..have to replace with aftermarket

The same exact thing happened to me with my oil tank.

Cheap materials and welds.......also helps if you dont torque the schmidt out of it!!!! The should have made either the gromet smaller or tab larger so locating it when replacing easier.

Lol mine happened as soon as I bought it.

Obviously the first thing I did was changed the oil when I got it home, and that happened before I even got to ride it... Yeah lol.

Thanks for the reply CJM.

I'm sure the washer is laying on the aftermarket skid plate then. I wouldn't have put skids on it if I knew the mess created when changing the oil.

YW Dave.

If the hole for the skid is to small just get a holesaw and enlarge it a bit :)

That would be a great idea! All look into that.
