what year 400 is this? because the reverse and non reverse motors wont swap front sprockets. learned the hard way when my front sprocket was junk and tried to use a buddies front from his newer 400 on my older one. splines didnt match up.

Yea, also you can't run anything taller than a 15t on the front of the '05-'07 400s because the chain won't clear the case.

FYI, a cr250r front sproket "can" work on a 400ex and vice versa
