Stay away from the $85 stators on ebay

I made the mistake of buying one of these for my freshly rebuilt motor and just wanted to warn everyone that they are junk. I had a no spark issue and first replaced the stator, still had no spark so I bought a new coil and aftermarker cdi (another mistake). This time I had spark however everyime I kicked it over it would not start, backfired when kicked over and the kickstater had major kickback. I did some research on here and found out about how all the aftermarket cdi's are crap. Just so happens I drove by K and K atv today while working so I stopped and they had a nice used oem one for $45. So I bring it home plug it in kick it over and its still backfiring and not starting. Just for the heck of it I put my oem stator back on it, kicked it over and it fires right up. So the problem was the cdi all along I never even had to buy this pos to begin with but live and learn I guess. From now on I am going with oem electrical stuff only.

why does the ebay listing say "TRX250R FOURTRAX 4-STROKE 1986-1988"????? There is no such thing as that.

thats one of the china knock offs. good for paper weights or throwing at your wife.
