Web cam makes the best cams on the market probably.

BUT you def pay for it, and you have to get hard welded rockers and stuff.

Stage 3 hot cam performs good, from all the reviews...

Sorry, you didn't ask for my opinion, but the hotcam is probably my favorite brand.

I just don't know about Magnum, since they are so cheap, and not many people run them...

I have heard, that a Magnum cam is good, but it requires everything on your motor to be top of the line...

Valve guides, Valves, Piston, Rockers, Crank.. etc..

It has been said that a cam with that much meat, needs at least a 440 stroker motor.

I don't know first hand, but just from threads on here, that is what I have gathered.

Meh I slapped one in my 426 with the stock valve train and it's still kicking ***.

My first impression was "I can't believe it's still pulling!" it's got power right from the bottom to the top.

Maybe I'll pull it down top check it this winter for premature wear, but I dont think there is any issues.

Here are the specs from a listing on Ebay,It looks to be similar to a stage 2 Hotcam:

Performance profile increases overall power. Designed for use with a racing piston and exhaust. We recommend the use of a performance spring kit with shortened valve guides but do not have to. Compression release removed. Note: Valve timing is checked with 0-valve lash @ 0.050 inches of valve lift. Intake lift .350 exhaust lift .345 and duration of .256

Yah that sounds more like it.. I didn't think the numbers were as big as posted in Cody's link. I wanted a HC St.2 but the Magnum was half the price and no one had a solid review.

Now I have a couple of questions.I totally missed the difference in duration.

1. How would the extra duration of the Magnum cam vs. the stage 2 Hotcam effect the power?

2.With a bigger duration cam,how would a 12:1 comp piston compare to an 11:1?

3.Whats the quality?I wouldn't want to buy it and say it is the quality of Numara just to save a few bucks. It will be going in a 440 stroker,+1mm valves, port and polish head,450r carb and full exhaust build that I'm going to start this winter.

Had it in my 440 and it was fast, its in my 416 now and my 416 is faster then my 440 was. It might be cheap but it gets the job done. I raced my ex from 05-07, then it sat for a while and then the last 3 years its been my weekend beater with the same cam. I'm impressed with it. I do have all the stuff in the valve train like HD valves, springs, short guides, ect. Overall I'm happy with it.
