i got a tri-z yesterday...i couldnt get it to run..i pulled the carb off and it had a a 470 main jet ..this thing is huge.i put a 200 in. well it starts great now and has good power off idle..mid range it just dropps off and bogs. should i go up or down on the jetting? ..it has only 60 psi of compression warm..

THATS THE PROBLEM YOUVE LOST YOUR COMPRESSION

MAYBE YOUR RINGS WENT BAD OR SOMETHING..BUT IT NEEDS MORE THAN 60 PSI

wow, a tri z, stock? what year is it, probably an '86? gotta love them...til the fuel pump craps out.... your right that was WAY to high. iam pretty sure that carb would be a mikuni, so iam guessing your using mikuni jets, 200 is pretty small, try like a 250. what are you running for a main, and your needle? 60 is too low, time for a new top end job :) stock should have around 130 atleast, iam surprised you can even start it, my banshee had 80 before i blew it up, and it was a ****** to start, even warm...

parts!? wow! thats cruel and unusal, you better hone it(unless it needs to be bored) before you put it all back together, and dont forget, thicker base gaskets, thinner head :devil

...you better do something like rework the head too, for the loss of compression, look on the bright side...advanced port timing :devil :devil

trust me, afro enginerring a piston to last you a few more hours wont turn out great in the end, bore it, hone it, repiston and ring it, and do it right
