different battery mounting spot?

I was just wondering if there's another place I can mount my battery other then right under the fender?

There's an airbox kit you can get that will allow you to move it behind the filter, under the seat.

You'll have to search around for it on the net. But it's there.

I'm not sure on the 400ex, but on the 450r there is room under the front hood with a little engineering. That's where I mounted my 2nd battery when I was racing. The easiest place is probably in the airbox though.

Not positive, but i think it just wont put out anough juice with an upgraded ignition. But they make bigger coils/stator/regulator, whatever you wanna call it.

Or i could be thinknig of a 450R, who knows.

When racing some series you need to start the engine up at the gate as you go. Faster it kicks over (more juice) the better.

We had it wired in series to push 24v to the starter. Everything else is run off the first battery, getting 12v. The starter turns over twice as fast for dead engine starts.

That looks pretty good with the plastic on but I think I would just covert that thing to a kicker to get rid of that rats nest of wiring. But then again I like my stuff to look clean, even when torn apart.
