Rings bub. I wouldn't even worry about it. I have a 1996 and it's smoked for last 10 years, cant kill those motors. Get a wiseco piston and ring set and put it on the shelf for when it does go. You'll be waiting a long time i think.

Hey I would put money on the rings. Don't worry about it tho if it ain't smoking bad it will be fine I would just check the oil before a ride and make sure its not low...

Also the wiseco piston you can get the whole kit for about 140 on ebay it will be 11:1 and fix ur problem. Up to you tho.

If it's putting out 195psi compression I don't thank it would be the ring's unless the oil scraper ring's wasn't staggered or completely collapses. What type of oil you using? Syntactic? Is it over full of oil?? Could be your Valve Seal's?

I know I used 4 stroke Syntactic oil one time and it smoked like a old train. Don't know why, But it did. So, I changed it for some 20w50 four stroke oil. And it work's good.Yeah it's a thicker oil. I like it. So, you could try a thicker oil it may clear up.
