If you have the wrench you can adjust it while it's running and set it from ear. Just turn it to about 2.5 turns out from lightly seated and then wait 5-10 seconds and listen to the idle. Turn it up to about 2.75 or 3 turns and wait to see if it idles any rougher or smoother, you also don't want the idle to speed up any. You want the perfect blend of steady and smooth idle.

Yes. I simply remove the screw from the idle adjustment bracket and move that out of the way. This will give you TONS of room. I usually just reach in there by hand and use my 'D' shaped bit. A little flesh burning adds character.

I know your supposed to adjust it while idling. Good freaking luck without a 75 dollar special screwdriver motion pro makes.

Figure roughly 2-2.75 turns out is where most people run. Loosen up the clamps on the rubber boots on the carb. Twist the carb towards you and find a screwdriver that fits.

Also buy a regular fuel screw or cut a notch into yours to make adjusting super easy.

I hear ya!

I actually do the twist method, but I have a special flexible shaft screwdriver I use so I can kinda bend it and fit it in there easy.

Remove the idle screw bracket if you gotta. But I can see it. Like I said your twisting the carb towards you so you can see wtf your doing.

Remove the idle set screw bracket.

You will have TONS of room to reach in there with your hand. Yes, it is going to be hot. Wear a glove if it is too hot. You will clearly be able to tell once the screw is indexed onto the adjustment screw.

Now i think i understand what you mean by twist the carb. Do i loosen the tube clamp coming fom the airbox and pull the carb towards me so the screw faces out?

it will easily turn. Just make sure the boots are on and snug when you put it back in place.

Got it in there thanks cjm. I just turned it about a half turn counter clock wise from the stock setting. That is richer right? It did have just a little backfire now it has none.

Yes, counter clockwise (out) is richer, in is leaner.

Just to let you know, there is another option out there. I put one of these in my carb and since my snorkel has been removed I can adjust it while it's running w/o moving the carb. Pretty simple to do...http://worksconnection.com/details.php?id=568

Cool thanks. I was wondering if since i had never adjusted my af mixture after jetting addind slip on pipe and k&n filter does that mean i was not getting the small power increase from adding these items? Since i was not getting the fuel the bike needed
