I'm thinking about steppin up to 10" rims in the back - probably runnin 22" original razr's. What is everybodys thoughts on going to 10"? Pro's and Con's??

I do know that they are huge and cost more to replace. There is less sidewall and are easier to damage. They also slide out in the corners than a smaller rim would.. :D

I have 10 inch rears. I don't like the tire selection. Every tire is made in 9's but not all of them are made in 10's. As for the damage, I have never hurt anything serious. Just the typical dents and scrapes.

Thanks GNCC#829. Do most XC racers run either 22/22 or 23/22 setups?

I have a set of ITP 22" XCT's mounted on 10" Douglas Ultimate Billet Beadlocks. I wish I would have got them in 9".:( The 10" diameter is more likely to receive a flat spot than a 9" rim. Even though I was able to remove the flat spots after removing the tire and banging it out, I still would rather have the 22's mounted on 9" rims.

Note: My thinking when I bought the 10" rims was that the 20" tires are mounted on 9" rims... So why not mount 22" tires on 10" rims?? Anyway, for the kind of riding I do, XC and trail riding, they definetly do not have the sidewall flex like the 22" on 9" rims, which will allow you to slide better and give better control. The negative, after my experience, is that the 10" rim is not as noticeably round as the 9" rim, and lends itself for more flat spots than a smaller diameter rim.

Even though I still run the 22" rears on my 10" rims, I got myself a set of 9" HiPer rims to mount another set of 22" tires on.

Good luck with your choice!:)
