I have been talking to a guy on Craigslist for about a week with an 01 cr125 with plenty of parts on it and street legal. Said its in immaculate shape. Idk if I feel comfortable trading my wheeler for something else straight up, I've always paid or received cash for deals like this. I wanted to hear some input from people on hear, whether you would or wouldn't or any info about 01 cr's that I should know.

Can't post pics right now cause I'm on my phone at work, I'll try to get some up later but bike has:full fmf pro series exhaust system with fmf shorty , wisco piston , v force reeds an valves , moose racing seat , wisco cams , factory connect front an rear suspension , renthal bars with pad , new scott grips , pro armour kill cord , moto xxx graphics with number kit , headlight an tail light kit , polished frame.

I just sold my 99 Cr125. They're surprisingly fast for 125's. The only thing you really need to worry about is the topend. I don't think I'd do a straight trade though, but in the end its all up to you!

I def think that a 400ex is more valuable than a CR125, but thats just me.

I think I'm going to ask him to show receipts for his parts cause he claims it's all new as of this winter. I haven't seen the bike in person yet but according to him there isn't one thing out of place and it has been meticulously maintainenced and taken care of. I'm kinda skeptical, but a streetable moto bike would be pretty badass

The only reason I see them being more equal value is because he has a lot more in aftermarket parts than I do. Idk. I'm gunna check it out tomorrow and see how I feel when I get there. I'd value my bike at like $3,000 on a good day as it sits.

Agreed, I couldn't sell my 04 for 2k.

With a new top end you could buy this and be under 1g.

400ex's seem hard to give away these days, while a normal CR125 can be had cheap, supermoto wheel and tire set ups can get expensive real quick. If you really think you want a two smoke 125 on the street I would say its pretty close to even trade.

The only time you see 400ex's SELL (not just listed price but actually sell)
for more than $2500 is if they have Suspension, look awesome, and are no older than about 5 years.

Around here anyways.

My buddy just text me the other day and told me he was selling his.

It has a 10:1 compression piston, pipe+jetted and a stage 1 cam. He said he wanted 3K but would take 2500 and i just laughed.

I have owned and sold and bought a lot of 400ex's.

Never sold one for more than $1200 and never bought one for more than $850.
