well i had thought my Rossier was starting to get loud and sound sort of hollow..so i pulled the core out and found this!almost NO packing left. wow. The guy i bought it from a couple years ago said it was freshly packed:rolleyes:. New re-pack kit is on the way. Check your exhaust guys, i know it goes overlooked a lot. :eek2:

You are Really suposed to repack it every month if it is a race bike.

I recently went the cheap route and repacked with some fmf stuff for $10. I would not reccomend it, doesnt deaden the sound nearly as good as a good pillow pack. I got one from sparks in the past and that was top notch

x2 - It will last quite a bit longer as well.

thats what im thinking the previous owner had repacked it with. I orded the Rossier kit which is a ceramic wool pillow. Who knows maybe the guy before me never did pack it and just said he do to make the sale. :p

anyone ever pack a pipe with steel wool? saw it in a youtube video once and sounded good still after he was done. think it would be heavy?

steel wool does not work nearly as good as packing. THe pillow packing is the only way to go, that gray or red fmf stuff doesn't hold up for long. I've always had luck ordering the sparks packing and using it on my hotdogz.
