installed a high compression piston in my 450r and am running vp 112 fuel! seems like it is now getting to much fuel because if the choke is on for a cold start it floodes it and there is residue from unburnt fuel on the inside of the silencer. can i just lean it out enough with the fuel air screw or should i rejet it? what would give me the best results? any help would be great getting the r back to flawless performance.

sounds like your way to rich, you need to rejet after any type of performance change pretty much, what is your jetting at now and I can point you in the right direction you can try and tune it in with the a/f screw but thats for small adjustments ......

the jets that are currently in the carb that it ran perfect with until i went to 13:5:1 high compression and race fuel. main jet 175 slow jet 42 and starter jet 75. mods on quad are uni air filter, ehs lid, hrc cam, 13:5:1 high compression piston, and curtis sparks full system exhaust, running on vp 112 fuel. if you need any more info to help me out please ask! and maybe 112 fuel is to high maybe should run 110 just a though but the local shop told me running 112 would be the best but im not sure. thank you!

thanks for the help i talked to sparks racing as well and they said if it was dialed in before i changed compression and fuel that has no affect so it is just rich and needs to be leaned out with the a/f screw. I will try this first but if it doesnt make it 100% then i will try different jets and get it dialed in.
