I ride A LOT of wheelies, and I just had my frame powder coated, as you can see in the pic. Well, I've stood the bike up on the grab bar a few times and it's started to chew into the clear coat of the powder coat.
I didn't want it to go any further into the powder coat. So, I had some 1" black rubber hose and cut a 5" piece, and cut it down the middle, long ways, and put it on the grab bar. I secured the hose to the grab bar with 2 black zip ties, but you could use 1" metal hose clamps so the hose stays on the grab bar if you hit it on the ground.
I only had 1" hose in the shop. But 3/4" would actually make a better fit. Eventually, you'll have to replace the rubber with new. So you should grab 5' or so. It's fairly cheap so why not?
