We just got a nice set of digital scales at work so I threw the crf on them today.
Stats:
F 48.8%
R 51.2%
L 49.8 R 50.2%
Total weight 349lbs wet (2 gal of fuel)

How does that compare to a built Honda 450R. I say built cause of lighter aftermarket components....
How much less weight is the crf engine than the trx engine?

I never truly weighed any of mine so im going off pure assumption but i swear all my built quads were always quite a bit heavier than a stock quad. Alot of aftermarket that you put on a honda is adding to the quad rather than taking away + arms + axles, nerf bars, longer stems, stabilizers, heavier ply tires, bigger bumpers... that all adds weight to a quad that is 357LBS off the showroom floor as a kicker

I'm curious to know the comparisons between other bikes. I'm very happy with that weight. Its very close to a stock 250r weight. I am going to take my ltr over to work to do that just because I need a good laugh, I'd say it comes in at 425..haha. That thing is a pig. 450r is better but not as light as the hybrid. On one of the other forums a guy did a ds450 with the same crf motor and my laeger is about ten pounds lighter... guess that crazy canam frame isn't that light after all.

I have an 06 LTR setup for TT with all lightweight a-arms, swingarm, subframe etc. plus I have a kickstart and carb. It weighed 366 with no fuel. I have an 06 CRF450 motor I'm going to put in over the winter. I'm hoping to get the weight down in the 330's.

I know my quad isn't an mx bike, i race xc, but my 87lt250r weighs 369 full of fuel ready to race. The stock gas tank holds 3 gallons. Suzuki claimed 324 dry weight is a little low! Blackandblue is right. most aftermarket stuff your put on (bumpers, nerfs, wheels and tires) all add some weight to a stock bike. Dirtwheels claimed that a bone stock kick start 450r weighs about 380 full of gas. i'd say thats pretty close to being right

I know a guy who has weighed a few different quads, below is a link:

I think he just used some cheap scales, so not sure how his weights will compare to others.

If you want a heavy quad, try building a desert racer, the things are tanks!
