I know 450r shocks will work on a 400ex, I was just checking to make sure that the 450r works shocks with resis will work on it? I also want to know if you guys think its worth it. He has works shocks with extra springs for 150 that he used for like 6months and then he's got stockers for 100. What one will give me the biggest bang for the buck

I'd go with the stock r shocks. Then get them resprung/revalved. They r just a better shock imo. If you don't have the money to respring and revalve, I would at least save up and buy triple rate spring kit.

He had the works shocks rebuilt and sprung already. Why are they worse then the stockers?

I just had a better luck with stock ones. But if the work r in good shape they might not b to bad. Did say what they were set for. Weight, xc or Mx?

I ended up buying the works He said they were set for like 25lb's less than what I am and were on +2 450r a arms. So I'm thinkin they might work alright

They don't sound to bad then. I know for sure you'll like them better than the stock ex shocks and probably better than the R shocks in stock form. The R shocks with the stock spring are really stiff. What kind of riding do you do?

if they are meant for a 450r then they wont have the correct compressed/extended lengths.. They'll work, but not as good as having a pair setup for you. I hurt myself trying to piece together a suspension setup like that.

Do it once do it right and save some money.
