remember that 25-30 came off one wheel not 2. i reckin you'll gain some top end but u wont have a lotta power. you'll prolly end up with 18 or so.so is it realy worth it? JMO

never thaught of it that way. I found a atc 250r (85) cheap it needs some work but not much. I think I mite use that instead. does any one know hp for the atc 250r?

I think they are about the same as the trx250r (around 30). I think some of the earlier 250r's (81-84) are air cooled, which might be easier in a 300ex since you wouldn't have to worry about a radiator.

wasnt the sprocket on the other side on some of the atc 250r's? I thought i read that somewhere. might want to check that out

I belive the 85 atc is allmost the same as the 86 trx just different gearing and a smaller stroke. so it should work all I need is motor mounts. any one got spects on how to build them or where I can get some?

ALL THE AIR COOLED MOTORS HAVE THE SPROCKET ON THE OTHER SIDE.
