I currently am rebuilding my quad and had Mickey Dunlap build a me a 465 Big Bore and also do all the head work. I am debating what full exhaust system I should get. I am looking at either Curtis Sparks or Yoshimura.

Sparks, HMF, motoworks, CT racing. The sparks is VERY loud, HMF is excellent, CT racing is LOUDER (not as bad as sparks) and motworks is just nice.

I wouldnt waste my money on a yosh pipe, last few I seen are made of very thing material on the muffler.

Sparks isn't that loud really. I dont have the quiet core and it's the standard 2" race core. The White bros. i have on my 450 is WAYYY louder and it was just repacked. Can't go wrong with sparks, they are great exhausts, especially on 400's

Sparks or HMF, can't go wrong with either. Basically do you want an HMF that is colored or do you want the Sparks that's chrome.

If you dont mind how loud it gets I recommend any decent looking budget minded slip on you can buy that you like.

Take all the packing and screen tube stuff out and mount it completely hollowed out on stock headers with the welds ground down.

That's the best pipe for getting the most power out of a big motor, it will be slightly louder then the original slipon but will have more flow then even the most expensive full systems you can buy.

The only ones better then that for a motor like yours would be the hard to find dual exhaust kits or even a custom pipe.

Spark, HMF, Big Gun and LRD seem to have had the best reviews from folks with 400's with the larger motors...

But.... my favorite pipe on a 400ex is an old TC racing (supertrapp) shorty.... the guys down in the next county got me into them!! Super-loud and it just sounds strong, dyno results show its one of the top pipes..
