i am having a hard time finding out what is squeaking when i am driving. only seems to do it when quad is moving. i bounced the front end up and down and the only thing i hear is the shocks making a whistling noise. i think that is normal. right? i greased the shock bolts and brake pads dont need to be changed my the indicator. any help?

could be a front wheel bearing beginning to fail. get the front wheels off the ground and check for any abnormal movement. there shouldn't be any play that you can feel with you hand.

i changed the left wheel bearing thinking the same thing but didnt fix it. sounds like its coming from the left side.

A-arm bushings are worn out or need lube

Yea but it does it when you ride, different stress then bouncing.

along with everything else mentioned,

check the small cap on the ball joint. Had one of those crack once, enough mud and it starts to make noise till the first water hole.

since your saying it doesn't do it by bouncing it. get the front tires off the ground and spin them. remove each rotating part till the noise stop, that last thing that came off is the problem. :macho

WD-40 EVERYTHING that moves in the front end, except for your rotors and brakes of course. More than likely it's your bottom shock bushing. That's what always squeeked when I had my stock arms and stock shocks.

i dont hear it when i spin the front wheels off the ground

so you must be hearing things if its not caused from something spinning and you say its not from bouncing it.

sooooo as cjm said riding it puts a different stress on it and it seems like thats the only way to get it to make the sound.

It couldnt be your steering stem bearing/seal could it? I could not figure out for the longest time where the squeeking was coming from util I really pin pointed it. It would squeek when I rode or turned the handlebars sitting still. I sprayed wd40 on the seal/bearing and took care of it.

It's the steering stem bushing at the top of the stem. You can oil it with assembly lube. Just a few drops and turn the bars back and forth to work it in. But the squeak will come back. Just give it a few more drops and it will be good for a while.

Just today was riding around and heard squeaking myself. The a-arms were the culprit.

Didnt make the noise anytime else but when the arms were flexing at speed.

Yea I have the same problem, always have to grease or lube the steering stem bushing.

I always make a note of spraying the steering stem bushing, the chain and the a-arm bushings/heim joints with WD-40 after I wash either of my quads. Just to make sure that the squeeks stay away and never come back.

Steering stem can be fixed by simply drilling a hole into the stem clamp and bushing, tapping and putting a grease fitting on there. Works great.

Also its not supposed to be super tight either, its supposed to be actually very loose according to the torque spec.

Still got this squeak. Its in the engine. When I am moving with clutch engaged and on throttle it does it from left side of engine. With clutch pulled and bike still moving its quiet. Any thoughts what could be squeaking in engine?

Sounds like its time for the front end to come off and check and lube everything.
Check the steering bushings too.

Its not in the suspension.

I can't think of anything that would cause a "squeak" inside the engine. It would be a clunking noise or like metal on metal, not a squeak like a bushing or something went out.

as soon as you pul clutch in the noise goes away.

still have this squeaking sound from engine. could it be a bearing inside of clutch cover?
