It been about a year and I just replaced the sparkplug. I was wanderin if I'm running too rich? It had some red at the end too?

And is 3 psi enough to have in my 4 snows for drag racing? I have them mounted backwards so they hook better on hard packed dirt too. I race tomorrow so I hope the snows do good!

That is NOT good. Based on the picture I would say your running too rich as well as having oil leakage or running really poor fuel.

I would replace the plug and recheck it after a bit. It starts to look the same way you probably have oil leaking past the vavles.

I replaced it tonight but I have a race time so I'll check it after that. I run 93 octane all the time and I'll be putting half 112 octane in it tomorrow.

And I haven't noticed any oil leakage anywhere and the last guy that did all the work to it had it done back last August. It been runnin good since then though.

What should I do?

Id say it probably has alot to do with the gas your running. You have 12.5:1 and that needs 100 octane or better ALWAYS.

Your getting detonation most likely as well. Oil leakage could be happening as well, only way to be sure is check the valves/head for leakage.

keep an eye on oil level. it might not be burning enough to even notice it depending on how often your oil chances are.

Well I guess I'll start putting octane booster in it but that would only being me to the 97-98 octane range.

But what would I do if there is oil there? Would I have to rejet? I been running it exactly a year and it never caused me a problem though.

And yeah, I check the oil every ride and make sure it's supposed to be where it's at. I just changed that tonight the oil and filter tonight too.

That plug looks NASTY, I don't even see how it was firing. I'd deff. recommend changing the plug atleast once every 6 months from now on.

If it were to rich it would stutter at the point in which it were to rich.

There is deff something wrong, it looks like abnormal erosion.

What size jetts do you have now?

Go to the faq section here www.jetsrus.com and read how to jet and plug reading.

Octane booster will raise you octane level by tenths. Hardly noticable and not worth it. Go to the local small airport and run AvGas, it is 100LL. At my airport too it's around $5.50 a gallon.

^ This...

I honestly think its detonation causing it, but could be oil. he said he hasnt changed it in like ayear.

FWIW I change mine like every 3-5 months. Generally about 2-3x a year.

Thanks alot guys. I'll just change it every 4 months and I'll try to get higher octane but I might be stuck with 93 octane. I got 112 in it right now!
