Anyone know how or where to decode a vin#?

all i know is 10th digit is the year. 87 is H

Headache's correct...10th digit should be a letter
F=85
G=86
H=87
J=88 (no i used)
K=89
L=90
M=91
N=92

So a "P" would be a 94 model

92 was the final year of the lt 250....

Something is fishy with that. Is it an lt250R? Or Zilla? Or 250s? 92 was the last year of the Suzuki R's.

after further inspection (and some sandpaper to the vin#)
I have a 1985 lt250r :)

Congrats on having a first year racer!! Now, look further into the bin, and figure out what number off the line it was. A guy on QRHQ has the first Zilla released. His vin starts with 00023, the first 22 were destroyed by Suzuki, number 23 was factory chromed, then released to a factory backed racer (can't remember the name)
