There are a few small gouges on my mating surface for my head and valve cover. Should I use blue RTV to help seal it?

RTV wouldnt hurt anything, but i think it will still seal fine without it. RTV makes a mess. Ive never has one leak with the stock metal gasket.

The gouges go all the way across the surface so I feel it will. You say it makes a mess. What will happen if say some got inside the motor?

Probably just burn up.
How bad are the nicks? Are we talking deep gouges here or surface stuff that could possible be cleaned up? Pics?
I think the metal cometic gasket would work find with no leaks, they kinda form fit to everything and weld themselves on there once they get hot b/c they are rubber coated metal.

I ended up with a wiseco top end gasket kit. I used red RTV on it to be safe.
But I got the 11:1 stage 2 cam all together . its sick
