It is not a stock frame, it looks like a 250r based frame built for mini quad what size motor was in it? When I raced TT there was mini quads that looked similar to th 250r frame but had like 90 cc motors on them. Hope I helped you out

Those are better picks, that's a mini it probably had a 90cc or something similar. There is a guy in greenbrier ar that has built a lot of mini quads. His business name is DC motorsports his name is David carter, I'm sure he could answer your questions.

Looks like a supermini built for an 85cc 2 stroke dirtbike motor...Cr 80/85 in most cases. That was probably a pretty penny to have made. Post it in the mini section for sure and the guys there will either offer to buy it from you or know what it is or who built it.

I saw that on Craigslist. I wanted to call the guy and let him know that it wasn't a 250r.

It's a Cobra and with the sticker on the swingarm I would bet it is set up for a CR85 You will need the Cobra plastics.

I would almost bet anything its not a cobra!!! I agree that its an old jp 90 mod and if so it takes the old 86ish trx125 plastic!

I have to agree with Dustin...I don't think cobra makes narrow front frames and that has removable subframe and it almost looks like it has a mini cr500 link or some tricks look how verticle the back shock is mounted? It seems like whoever built this for there kid had no budget.

Sell as stated on here or part out the 250r stuff. I think it may take too much to make it a mini racer again and those mini dads will go another route. Start by testing the waters as a whole and then part it but on this site first before ebay.

They are closed today, but Call jimmy at T&T in Bardstown, Ky. tomorrow 502- 348-4847
Tell him I told you to call him and I think you have Derek Sheroan's old cr 85 mod quad and see if he can better help you determine what you have.

Does the CDI not have any numbers on it? Normally CDI's have the part numbers on them. If you can search the number it should tell you what engine was in there.

Did you call jimmy?
You could also measure the size of that Carb to get an idea of what size motor was in there.
That motor area looks small for a 250 motor, just sayin.

I knew it...Just look at that rear shock its way to vertical to not be a cr500 link...I knew what I saw when I first posted...Not to mention its a narrow frame but uses a piece of square tubing like a roll design instead of two narrow rails like a Laeger... Also like bigmatt posted that area is way to small for a 250 motor...Its definitely for an 80/85.

Took the quad in today and it does take the 86-89 250r plastic with cr80-85 engine!

I have an old dirt wheels magazine with two of these JP mini's featured. One ran a water cooled CR 80 motor and the other a air cooled CR 60.

I believe the plastic was off either a 200 or 300 ex on the one with the 80 cc motor in it. The fuel tank in your pics don't look like a 250r tank, looks more like a 4 stroke tank.

If you are really curious, why don't you call Lone Star and talk with them about it. JP racing changed it's name to Lone Star back in the 90's sometime.

It doesn't look like the 250r plastic will fit around that tank very good.

For a trx125!!!!
Did your 250r plastics that you put on there match the mounts? This may take all trx125 plastics as stated before.
