Does anyone have any information about a race at Virginia Beach this year?

They had one there in Apr 02 and was featured in Dirt Wheels a couple of months later. It was a privately sponsored race and brought in a couple of big names.

May 2nd thru the 4th this year. I don't think you will see the big names again this year. There is a national at redbud the same weekend.

I talked to the promoter about a week ago, and he said he was comtemplating throwing the trophies in the trash and giving out cash for all the classes.

I helped out with it last year and most likely will help out again this year. Its a fun weekend, and its not everyweekend we get to ride on the beach here.

I still have to say the funnest part about last year was when I ran the Polaris 700 in the sportsman class on Sunday. I know the guys felt bad when they were passed by a 600lb Utility 4x4.

Hope to see some of you out there this year.

If you have a chance to post a phone number of the promoter or a URL where we could get some more info that would be great.

Your'e right, it's not often you get to race on the beach. The only other beach race that I know of is at Wildwood, NJ which is held twice a year, June and October.

i went last year ,they should have taken those big 4x4 quads and dragged the track after every other moto ,those ruts sucked ! you could only pass on one long straight away and in the whoops?they should take a 6x4 piece of chainlink fence tie some landscape timber across it (for wieght) and drag the track with that! just an idea..... guys keep getting stuck i was in 3rd place going in the 3 or 4 corner and the 1st guy got stuck the 2nd guy hit him ,so i tried to go around on the big soft berm and was hit from behind and over i went ..stuck !....but all and all i had fun!

i will be going as well. this will be my 1st year but it sounded like so much fun i just have to come. there are about 10 riders from Georgia coming with me also. i will see ya'll there.

Come on Dustin. Have to race in this. Only once in awhile you get to race on the beach here.
