View Full Version : Kick start wont move after rebuild

hey guys. just replaced a half case side on an 05 450r kick start. we keep trying different ways to put the kick start gears in, but nothing is working, and it wont budge. BUT we CAN turn the motor over with a wrench... does make any sense. any help is much appreciated! :macho

did you get the kick starter shaft in time? there are dots to line up.

tried pull starting it and popping the clutch, clutch is not engaging, making a grinding noise at times when pulling it...

man thats does not sound good at all. i would pull the side cover and see what is going on in there. there is something not timed or lined up properly.

are you sure you have all the internal gears and thrust washers correct?

are you sure its the clutch not engaging, and not just the main gears not lined up with the counter shaft gears causing the grinding noises you hear?

what do you mean by the clutch isn't engaging? when you pull your clutch lever does it move the plates?if so then more then likley it has nothing to do with the clutch

need way more details to really help
