400ex and 400x frames

Does anyone know if the frame has changed between the 400ex and the 400x frames?? I need longer fender brackets and the 400x ones look longer than the 400ex ones.

Frames are all the same pretty much, little minute differences but nothing major.

The brackets are another story, a 400X uses different plastics and the brackets could be longer.

Why wont your brackets work?

I crashed and broke my plastics so I got a pair off Craig's List and the person "race cut" them too far for where the brackets meet do I need longer ones to reach the far bottom hole in the plastics

its possible the brackets for the newer plastics are longer. Im not 100% sure.

It sounds as if you might have to make a custom solution. Worst case scenario get some aluminum flat bar and make a small extension if possible.
