stock 400ex needle vs stock 450 whats the difference

I have been Tring to jet my 450 carb for my 400 and been having troubles until I put my stock 400ex needle in it and it worked fine so here's the question the 450 needle I have is about 2 1/2 inches long and the 400 stock is about 2 1/4 long can anyone tell me how long the 450 needle should be and if any body has one they want to get rid of

The needle i have from a rebuild kit is almost 2 1/2 inches long,but at the clip in third notch down its 2 1/4. If u need one pm me your address and ill send u this one.
