400ex Stock Exhaust Question

I just got a stock exhaust for my 400ex off of a friend, and I was wondering if the muffler should have 4 stroke packing in it or not. I checked the manual and it doesn't mention anything about it. Thanks

Stock mufflers use a series of baffles instead of packing.

There is no packing in the stock exhaust. Probably to minimize maintenance.

Yea, I used to have an XR70 years ago and it was the same deal, huge baffle and no packing. Thanks for confirming it!
