breaking down and mounting new tires? Since being married and moving my Suzuki dealership that I used to deal with is now about 20 miles away. As a result I called my nearest Honda dealership (J&J Motors in west Massillon) about breaking down my old rears and mounting my new Razr's. They want $20 per tire!!! My old Suzuki dealership will do it for $10 total! Now I've got to make a 1/2 hour drive instead of 5 mintues just to have 2 tires mounted cause the local Honda stealership is a den of thieves.

Did you tell them that the other place would do it for $10. Sometimes if you tell them if they don't lower there price your going to go to the other place, they will give.

Other guys said Walmart is pretty cheap, did you try them, or a local garage?

He just replied with "Well you better go there." Mind you, this is the same place that offered me a brand new Blaster (in '98) for $2699 OTD. I didn't want a Blaster but my buddy did so we went back 2 days later. The exact same salesman denied ever telling me that and told my friend that quads aren't like cars and that you can't dicker on the price. I've refused to shop there ever since but all I wanted were some tires pressed off/on.

My local dealer charges $8 to take off a tire, $8 to put one back on.

I never had any service dealings with J&J Motors, but when I bought my Big Bear, and my Kodiak, they were $500 cheaper on each machine than anyone else around.

Tires are a werid thing. Most shops either charge good because they can do them fast, and some are expensive because they don't like doing them. I really hate doing anything with tires, it just gets me aggitated!

Some dealers are real pricks....

dealers around here want $30 a tire..

Frig them its just not worth getting aggrevated with the countless absolutely senseless idiots that seem to be in this industry.

I have very little patience for guys like that and completely enjoy getting in their face and explaining "real slow" so they can understand why they must be complete and total @$$ holes to have the balls to be so blantantly ignorant to their customers needs. Yes I guess I do enjoy it :D

I hope everyone here understands that the money we spend is just as green as anyone elses and we shouldnt be spending it at places like this so that they can eventually go under and be replaced by someone who appreciates our business and is willing to work at keeping us happy.

I took 2 front tires down to Les Schwab to have them changed and i got the rims back smashed and beat up beyond belief, turns out they didnt have the right stuff to mount and dismount quad tires, and after they messed up both my rims the guy that did them tryed telling me that i brought them in thrashed already which is not true cause they were both pretty much new honda rims. so i went back the next day and talked to the manager about the hole deal and so he ordered me up 2 new honda rims and now they wont work on atv tires anymore because they cant mount them correctly without smashing the rims.

but before they only charged about 15 bucks to switch 2 rims and tires

most places charge a higher price for mounting when you dont buy the tires from them....why should they help you out if you dont buy your parts there...... and i speak from experience....mouning and dismounting tires can be a lot harder than some of you think and it is well worth 15-20 each. some tires pop of really easily though.....but for rvery 1 that comes off easy there are 5 that take forever to get off.....in my opinion

Yeah my friend works at a local tire shop.. I got em done for free but it took us about 15-20 different pops to try to get those daM tires off the rims. Then when he did his it just poped right off. I understand the part where if you dont buy your parts from that dealer why should they help you out? But getting up to 20 a tire, thats alittle outrageous.
