Finishing up rebuild on my 400. Got the motor back together, started her up and she's still smoking. I got a wiseco piston and rings inside. What's the deal?

No I kept it the same. That's probably it, did you break a ring? Or when you tore it apart were the rings still in tact but they were just worn out? I'd say you need an overbore or like that guy said about the lube.

did you get new rigs and hone cylinder? any time a motor is a part the cylinder needs honed and new rings need installed. simple as that rings can seal if there in a different spot then before so once its apart you basically have to restart.

I understand it takes awhile for the lube to burn off. When I put it together the first time, I had the piston in backwards and was missin two rings lol. So much oil blew by, I was thinking its burning that off. But after about a half hour of running, she's still blowin some smoke.

Chances are the cylinder was already out of round after many hours of riding.

Time for a slightly larger piston and bore job. I recommend a 407 and 11:1 piston.

Nevermind fellas, she's not smoking anymore. Just let her idle for awhile longer, and she stopped. Rebuilt the rear caliper, put on a new rotor, chain, and bearing carrier. Thanks for all the help.
