I got a 03 400ex. I noticed that I was leaking a little bit of oil out of the left side of the crankcase cover. I narrowed it down to the neutral switch and noticed it had become completely loose. So i went to tighten it and pretty much overtightened it and snapped the head off. I managed to thankfully get the rest of the threads out by just backing them out with a flathead screwdriver. Well my question is can I just put a 13mm bolt (I think that was the size it was but I could be wrong) and be safe to ride for a little bit? It seems to be pretty much useless besides for the neutral light since I have ASV clutch and perch. I am going to order the switch but would like to have at least a bolt in there so I can "plug" it up. I am linking a parts break down and the switch I am talking about is labeled as #5. Thanks everyone in advance.

Might need to use a copper washer or some rtv silicone to seal it up so it doesnt leak. But I cant see why you cant plug it for now.

Should I do something like that when I get the actual switch in too?

I dont think you will need to since it has a seal built into it if I recall.
