So i just found out ITP now makes the legendary turf tamers. They make the classic style and they also make a pre grooved style which is very cool. BUT i look on their website and it says "Pricing that's as competitive as the legendary tire itself." so i then look online...and they are almost $80 a piece! what a joke. The old turf tamers were half that. ITP sucks and anyone who pays $80 for a grooved turf tamer is crazy. What do you guys think?

IMO all tires are way overpriced now.

And everyone knows it, i mean Razr 2 retail price is like $90 a piece and GBC Xrex is like $65 a piece... Obviously everything is just maxxis brand label markup.

The new Maxxis XC came out and the original price was like $140 a piece... but people were buying them (until they realised they were chit)

But yea $80 for turf tamers! WTH?

Most of it is just the brand name that makes the price go up, but rubber is going up in price also so they can't keep the prices the same and pay more for the raw rubber they need to make the tires. They'd be loosing money on each tire they sold, damn economy.

With Maxxis you're paying for them to import them into the US. China made junk.

ITP or Roc is the only way to go.

WOW! I remember years ago looking through the Rocky Mountain catalog and Turf Tamers were one of the cheapest tires you could get.

I think we've all seen tires nearly double in price for no reason over the past few years... Sucks.

Does anyone know how much dirtbike tires are offhand? Just wondering how they compare to the price of quad tires.

I was looking at Dirtbike rear tires the other day and for a nice rear depeing on size your looking anywhere from 120-170...For a single rear tire. I didnt even look if that was the highest...

Look at the price of truck or car tires. I used to be able to buy a 31" BFG mud terrain for around $150, now they are up to $200+. It's not just quad or dirt bike tires.

A few months ago I was shopping for tires and called procycle which is where i bought my old razrs and they said $80 a piece for razrs im like eh. i went to a bigger dealership that goes through parts unlimited that then jacks there price up and it was $140 a piece for razrs :O i ended up buying all 4 gbc x rexs $60 a piece off kgmotorcycle. my next tires will be itp or gbc again. i like maxxis but they are far overpriced and chinese

That's ridiculous. I use to have some tamers on the z400 I used to have and they were like 40 maybe 50 bucks a piece. I always liked them too. Just wished they were actually 18's lol. They were a lot smaller than all the other MX tires. That might be different now that ITP makes them.

One thing to remember is that grooving a tire also makes it wear alot quicker so your paying $80 a for a tire that will last half aslong as any other.

Turfs & Razr MX are $70-75 at Rockymountain... Still a little high but oh well. That's what we have to pay.

I'm happy with $60-70 for an MX tire today. Goldspeeds at $100+, Razr Xm over $110... UGH!!
