xr400 headhasket on a 400ex and heavy duty head studs

I read some place that you could use a xr400 headgasket on a 400ex and it raises the compression also.is there a heavy duty stud that is better to use than another I have oil leaking now figure while its apart I should upgrade it

The XR gaskets do raise the compression slightly because they are thinner than the EXs. I'm not sure on the exact number though. And GT Thunder HD studs are what you need to fix the stock studs. http://gtthunder.com/Product/01001HeadStuds.html

An XR gasket will increase the compression ratio .2. Actually, all 400EX pistons are rated for the XR gasket. So an 11:1 piston with EX gaskets is actually 10.8.
