i know it was a problem when they first came out, but has there been improvements on gas tank graphics for these quads yet?

I have been running Kustom Koncepts graphics on my EX and 450R and they have been holding up great! I race MX so the tank graphics take lots of abuse.

No, on OS tanks and 04-07 tanks, it doesn't matter what you do, they will eventually come off. I'm sure there are guys that will disagree, but maybe they don't ride with their knees as much or something. But tank graphics hold up great on the 08+ bikes, :D

05 450R and it is actually wearing through the graphic on the bottom however not peeling. So I am impressed!

the thing that happens is on every plastic tank is gas vapor actually penetrates the pores of the plastic leaving bubbles under any non vented stickers,

the 08 tanks work good because the tank has a cover separate from the tank,,

on non covered plastic fuel tanks you need stickers made just for that purpose

check out FTR powersports. Ernie will make up anything you could think of. Full wraps too

EXACTLY..
ITs a luck of the draw . We knew that when we got graphics on myu sons tank it would be a gamble and while we have the COOLEST graphics and are vented, they are starting to bubble . It is what it is ... We will run them until they look too bad and them will take them off the tank .
We have the 07 model .
FTR graphics ROCK !:macho

I'm going to change my 450R template so I have venting on the tank graphics. It doesn't seem to matter what thickness vinyl/laminate is used.

I've tried slits, holes, slices, etc. When they're ready to come off, they will. Nothing you can do about it. I've never seen any 04-07 or OS tanks hold up.

I just read a topic the other day about converting the tank covers onto the older style. Didnt know that could be done ! :)

I didn't know that either! That's what i need to do, would you happen to have a link?

I installed graphics on my 05 2 years ago and they all held up pretty well except on the tank of course.

just get a 08+ tank cover and cut out the middle piece on the top where the seat goes on top, then trim some of the other parts and it looks fine. if your not totally picky then that will work, you get a tiny bit of black from the old tank showing but its not bad

So , do you think that possibly why some folks have more issues than others is the additives in the fuel react differently, dpending on the type of fuels thats being used ?
Ive known same folks running same graphics to have isntant problems, then the other didnt as much .

Cant see it too much in this pic, but its bubbling up and We only had them on for about 6 weeks .

you can KINDA see it in the black piece thats in the corner of tank area .

Thats a nice template for the rear fender. All my SSi stuff comes straight down and is a pain to put on. Very nice work
