what year???

I just got what I was told was a 07 yfz 450. But did not get a title w/ it. Can anybody tell me how I can find out what year it is? I looked for a tag or seriel #'s but couldn't find any on frame or motor.

It has the newer swing arm for sure, but it also has a red frame, and I was told that the red frames were 04.

Main thing is I want to know is if it has the oil slinger modification.

on the left side directly in front of foot peg on frame tubing should be VIN. Look for the 10th digit. that will tell you your year. 07, 08, 09 all had red frames as well.

07 and up had oil squirter mod.

i thought the 06 had oil squirter too?

Nope. They made almost every single change in 06 except the oil squirter.

Thanks, that is what I needed. My biggest concern is the oil squirter. I was told how to check, but didn't want to pull cover if there was an easier way.

New to this 450 stuff, coming off mini's , so a little nervious about things like this!

Thats funny my 08 has a silver frame! And late 06 bikes do have the oil mod!!!! I have one of those as well!
