Just wondering how many of you guys that do lots of trail riding have Nerf Bars on your quads ?
Most pro's don't recommend them for woods riding, but the new C-Dale Blaze comes with them from the factory....:(

nerfs are awesome in the woods, they let you pivot around rocks and tight trees, if you donthave nerfs you would be getting off and moving the bike in some instances

I use a set of graydon prolines or the woods and I love them. They do let you cut coners quick if you rub them off a tree and stuff like that. They even stop trees from hitting your feet to hard.

as most said, they are great for getting around and through trees.they are also great for protecting your legs & feat plus they are good for putting your feat out in the lazy position on those long lazy trail rides:D

Well, all I gotta say is the fastest guy ever to race GNCC never ran nerfs (Barry Hawk). He just ran peg extenders. But now Bill Ballance and William Yokley run nerfs. So whatever floats your boat will work. I like them and I hate them. Some times I can't fit throught tight areas with them. That my 3 cents

I use 'em. They're great for keeping trees and other quads out of your rear axle. I wouldn't want to ride without them.

And it gives the ladies a place to put their feet if they want you to take them for a ride...

I do not run nerfs.

If I were not racing, I probably would, but there are too many cases where the nerfs would force me to dismount the bike when currently I can simply put my foot down to roll the quad back if I get a little too close to a tree, large rock, or other obsticle.

Nerfs do have the advantage of allowing you to turn more into trees (if your rear tires do not extend past the nerfs), but I don't have any trouble centering up my rear thru trees.

For me, nerfs are a disadvantage in the woods in a race environment, so I do not run them.

I do run peg extenders, however...

I love 'em, but as 86atc250r said, they can be limiting at times. Also, I don't ride in extremely tight spots, maybe if I did ride in tight areas, I would abstain. Since I am mostly into MX and light woods riding, I prefer them. You may want to give them a try, if they don't work for you, clean them up and sell 'em.

i use nerfs and most of my riding is fast trail riding, many times i have got goin a little to quick and hit a bump crooked or somthing and have my foot slip off the pegs, and its also nice, like someone said, for manuvering, like it gives you about an extra foot to lean into tight turns and stuff. also save my butt comin off jumps too. its your call tho.

I run AC P.P. nurfs and love them. I do only woods riding. The reason I use nerfs is my left ankle is fused so that it wont move and if anything happens to that leg it would be a long long recovery (Like Over A Year).

I put my nerfs on specifically for the woods and let me tell you why. Was flying around my trails one day, by myself, and took a turn a little too tight. Back tire caught the tree. I was doing probably 20-25. Quad stopped dead and I flew(literally flew) 20 feet in front of the quad. Ripped my jersey right down the middle from where it caught the bars. Luckily I was ok. The next day I ordered my nerfs!

tigh trails and sume sand i've never realy "used em" so to speak....i mean my feet have never came off the pegg's or anything during a jump.....like someone said before....they look good and they give you a "lazy-boy" positoin to ride in on those long haules....and the ladies can't forget them.....i might not have had to use them witch is a good thing but if i do ever need them i know their there.....umm.....and yeah tight trail...i don't use my nerf's to pivot me around a tree..too risky....and scuff's your stuff all up.....D.G..not a problem.....

Gabe, you could always do a best-of-both-worlds thing and get a set of nerfs without webbing, then you can cut around trees, and still put your foot down. I cant remember what pro rider does that, but one of them does.

i just got some ac pro pegs, look pretty clean, hope they are good. Oh and by the way, i got them from marcums atv, for a reasonable price....:D
