found a 250r for sale this week. it was cheap so i checke dit out. guy said it was a full aftermarket bike with a pro trax front end. Drove down to buy it, ended up being a lone star CR link chassis with a pro trax front end. i have only seen two other frames like this. Bike was super dirty and stuffed in the corner of a shed. Filthy dirty but started right up. got it home and gave it a bath and it is pretty tight without too many surprises. Bought it very cheap. Now what to do - keep - sell - part out - tear down & rebuild? Really had my heart on a full laeger 250R.

I didn't think Lonestar ever made a cr500 link chassis-sure it's not a Laeger?

I'm not completely sure about this but it's probably a cr 250 linkage. Back in the day rocky ridge racing had some lone stars with cr 250 linkage that BIll Balance ran.kt23 lives in that area so maybe it's one of those old ones! Also maybe keneth can clear it up.

1991 CR500 CR250 and CR125 all had the same linkage part numbers 52460-KZ3-730 and 52470-KZ3-730 I was under the impression this is the year to use with Laeger and his copied CR500 link frame/swingarms. I just got a Laeger copy XC frame and swingarm so am in need of linkage myself.

Clayton from rocky ridge built a lsr quad that used a 94 cr250 linkage & came from lsr like that. don't know how many we're built. It is a real lsr frame, u can tell by the motor mounts. Linkage doesnt look like a garage job, looks very clean. Airbox mounts perfect as well. How do u get pics to load on here and will post some.

I worked for a shop here in phx several yrs back that had been dealing with lsr since their beginning. Their was (sure still is) a New cr250 lsr swingarm in the showroom. I always thought it was mislabeled or was a cr500 but never really looked into it.

Just so I can kick myself for missing out, what town was it in? And where did you find it listed for sale? Nice find!

found it in Waverly TN.

did some reasearch with some freinds who hung with the Rocky Ridge guys back in the day. There was four of these bikes built. The first was less than pretty. frame tore in half around the footpegs. The other 3 used double wall tubes around the footpegs and shock tower. This solved the problem - which this frame is built like that. should be something interwsting to work with.

Starting tearing it down tonight. Going to go for a frame up build.

not completely done but it has been rode. Got about 30 minutes on the motor, enough to loosen it up and fire down on it hard. Good hit and pull, enough to pump my arms in no time. seems super light compared to my XC 450R. Went with a ESR PV 310 kit. No issues so far. Motor has zero rattle and seems tight. Original plan was to MX, thinking its gonna get skid plates and XC tires.

don't know the trick to getting files to attach. I will text a pic to Shuler and get him to upload it.
