newer ws6 trans am, new mustang 5.0, corvette z06, jeep srt8, cadillac cts-v, just to name a few. any camaro with a ls1 motor is a fast car for stock, or as mentioned before the cobra mustangs.

i also feel that as a sleek beak owner, it's my obligation to say that WS6's are not any faster than regular trans ams ;) :D

G8 gt or gxp if you can afford it.

or the 05 or 06 GTO they are just not the best in the looks department IMO but they are definitely fast but have some suspension issues due to added weight to pass safety standards in the states both the g8 and the gto are originally Holden cars. Just make sure if you get a gto its 05 or 06 the 04 have ls1 in them and at that point id rather have a older trans am IMO. the 05 06 have 6.0L as well does the g8 gt.

Quick little cars though. They run low 14s.

Referring to the original post, 90's mustangs don't have anything on 93-02 Trans Am's and Camaro's. Not just LS1's, the LT1's produce gobs of torque and can move pretty good as well. Just ask all the cars I have beaten already :chinese:

Best bang for the buck in my opinion. 6-speed models with under 100k (LT1) in nice condition can be had for 4k or cheaper.

As for tuners, MK4 volkswagens are no joke either. Get a stock 1.8T jetta or GTI and throw on a decent quality tune for $500 (I like a little company called autospeed in NJ) with a full exhaust and intake, and they rip. My friend's with those exact mods listed pulled a car on my stock Firebird. Good sleepers.

good choice, I was seconds from buying an 05' V a few months ago. I just cant justify buying a fast dd that my play car will walk on no matter what I did to the V.

btw LS1>LT1, if you have any interest in going faster than stock an LS1 is the best option.

Of course the LS1 is the better motor, but LT1's are no joke either. Im putting down 430 reliable horsepower..

Yeah AWD is awesome. My best friend used to have an old 1G Eclipse with some bolt-ons back in the day and it would pull low-mid 13's. Had a lot of fun in that car. The launch of AWD is sweet when it sets you into the seat hard.

They're good motors, the problem is the heads don't have enough room to go bigger, and they don't have enough performance r&d in the market...the last motor I built was a forged 370 ltx and it went great....once I added converted SBC heads, converted vic Jr. Intake, 4150 style tb and efi conections 24x LSX ignition and pcm conversion

Now I'm making more power on a stock lsx block with stock unported heads and stock ls1 intake.

Lt1's sound wayyyyy better though hah

Yeah that's one of the unfortunate part about these motors, lack of aftermarket. Dart and Lloyd Elliot make good heads for the LT1's but cost a LOT of $$$.

I just have different internals with a vortech set at 6psi non intercooled. Stock mild ported heads and mild cam.

Be more specific with which mustang's you are talking about. Now fox bodies werent fast by today's means but back in the day they were decent. 96 mustang gt is by far the biggest embarrassment in a mustang gt. 99-04 wasnt bad and would keep up with lt1's all day long. Yes ive ran quite a few of them in my old 01. My 02 sc281 runs low 13's stock and with a few bolt on's it runs 12's with no problem. 03/04 cobra's are in the 12's out the box same with the new 5.0's as long as you can drive.

I used to own an M3 it was an amazing car balls out power awesome handling.

The best part of it was the $1400 services every 7-8 months and the 10k+ I spent in maintenance in 7 years of ownership. Don't even ask how much insurance was.

They are status cars not because of how much they cost to buy but because how much they cost to own.

I wouldn't buy a cadillac for its power. Those LS1 or Lt1s are damn fast with a little bit of $$ into them. however I really liked how the STI Subaru felt a ton of power and more of a better all around car.

Third gen rx7, twin t supra... They were nasty tight off the floor. The supercharged Harley f150 was sick, and the new SVT Raptor is amazing other than the ugly grill.

I've been impressed with the SRT8 mopars, I know my 07 broke it loose at about 60 with traction control off. The 5.7 hemi's have a great amount of potential too

Jeep SRT8:devil: Nothing like a grocery getting SUV with a nasty 6.1 425hp Hemi in it, with full time AWD. Smoking ricers in extreme comfort!
