quadcrazy02,perhaps you can help me. First of all, nice redo. Clean and mean. Quite an upgrade. Since you are good at taking and posting pictures, could you show how the front plastic mounts on a walsh? I've seen some pictures but not enough to figure it out. I see the small recievers on the frame and the small tube frame thingamajigger(from other posts) but I don't see any bolts or anything. Can you ,or someone else, help an R brother out?

Thanks for the pics laeger400. I see how that piece slips into the bosses on the frame. Does anything hold it in or does the plastic mount at the back under the seat keep it from moving fore and aft? What atatches the plastic to that "frame"? Sorry for being such a wingnut. I'm not seein' it yet

laeger400
10-27-2012, 07:44 PM
There are different brackets depending on what plastic you have. The plastic mounts with the stock 250r rubber grommets and the velcro strap across the tank. I dont know what else to say.

89trx250r
10-27-2012, 09:51 PM
That metal bracket has tabs and holes in it that you can see for oem, meier plastics it bolts to those tabs just like a hood would. I don't know how it works for fullbore, I have never ran them. The rear is held by the two rubber grommets and the strap as Jerry(Laeger400) posted.

Hey guys no problem, i have plenty of minutes on my plan so keep posting lol Sorry folks i havnt been on here in a few days, im in the middle of harvest and just havnt had the time. And as far as a ride report im sure its going to be just like before i rebuilt it except a lil faster lol it handled like its on rails, better than any production bike i have ever rode but truth be know i havnt rode it since the rebuild, only started it and warmed it up to breakin the motor, as far as the front plastic mount goes laeger400 has pretty much covered it, the only thing is my bracket is a little different than his, it is made for the fullbore's, the top part (closest to the stem) has a 90 degree bend in it and the lower bracket is alittle narrower than the one that laeger400 posted only thing i dont like is when you run the Naca duct style hood that i run the front part of the bracket wont bolt up unless u drill holes through the hood, that wud be some ugly **** but anyways:D if my bracket was like the one in the picture (except with 90 degree bend) it might be wide enough to bolt it to the plastic abd the hood will cover it up, but really all a guy wud need to do is shortin the whole bracket 2" and problem solved, just didnt think about it before i pc'd it. i will post pictures if u like but it may be 2 weeks before i can get them on here lol but if youll give me your number or an email address i"ll send you some picture of what im talking about. Im not sure if Mike offers a different bracket that would be shorter in length so it would work with this hood, i forget to ask him when i talk to him because i havnt had an issue with just the top 2 bolts holding it in place. But im sure he would if you asked him. Hope this helps

Thanks again
