You'd have to machine the part where the arms bolt through the frame, (you cold do it with a chop saw, or grinder).. the 250r mounts are too wide. Other then that they fit perfect. To add 400ex arms to a 250r you'd have to add washers to make up for the space.

It was covered here..

but;
spacers for the 250r arms are wider than the 400ex arms so you would have to grind like a 1/4-1/8" off of each side. This is where the bolt slides through the frame and connects to the a-arms.

If I had my arms off I'd show you, the 250r ones wont fit onto a 400ex frame, but 400ex ARMS will fit onto a 250r frame with washers on each side of the a-arm mount as spacers

which in theory is a very easy task if you have some machining skills. If you could find a VERY good deal on some 250r arms id say give it a try.

If you're planning on building your bike for MX I'd look for +3's.. that's what I have to do now.. mine is only like 47.5 or something with +2's and wider offset rims..

Just something to think about, I wish I'd known when I bought mine.. Thats a nice all-around length, personally I'd like 49 for everything a few inches says alot for stability.. when I rode trails they were all wider than 50" anyway..
