I am hoping to build a custom trx 300 engine, 2wd model. It's for my three wheeler / shaft drive fat cat project.
So far, my hopes were:
89mm sleeve from xl/xr/ft500. Piston from same bike. Cut sleeve down to fit in 350x/trx 350 cylinder.
FT 500 / XR500 head
350x valve cover for the oil feed - Like the TRX 300, the 350 gets fed externally to the cam, vs the XR pumping up along an engine stud.
Stroker - Like 10 or 10.5mm.
Rod shortened 3mm to make up for change of deck height between 350x piston and xr500 piston.
Then a 350 rod put on a 300 crank, if this is do-able. If not, is is possible to turn down a trx 350 crank on the flywheel end to fit in the 300 case/use the 300 flywheel?
Just looking for any tips or insight from you guys, have seen many SICK builds on here.
Mainly about getting the right rod on the crank, which crank to use, which gear for timing to use on the crank, etc.
The cam would need reversed, or at least minor work and then reverse which lobe hits which rocker arm (Have that done on my other motor for a 300ex head on trx300)
