Hi guys,

I'm rebuilding my top end and wondering if I might have too much play in the rod. I can push it side to side a bit ( clutch side to stator side) but have no straight up play. It does wiggle a little and just wondering what would happen if I put it back together?

Also, I measured my cylinder to 66.70 +- and it looks like it needs bored. What size should I bore it to and what size piston? Should I order. It has some decent scratches.

I have never rebuilt one of these so thank you in advance for the help!

J

J is it tight up and down or does it wiggle?

there should be NO up and down wiggle or play

Theres no play up and down just wiggle when I push sideways- it's a hot rod crank if that makes a difference?

Thx

No idea on how old it is- it is a motor I've had on the shelf for a while.

Any dea what I should bore the cylinder to with tecabove measurements?

Thx

my rule of thumb has been if i dont know how long its been since i changed the rod/crank bearings. they get changed for safety before the cases get destroyed throwing a rod.

also the older hot rods has some tin issues i would weld them up or remove them.

1mm over bore is a 67mm piston
