250x/300ex are the same only different's 300ex has a longer stoke crank and electric start

not really 100% sure I know what your asking but I think your asking in the clutch lever/cable will interchange. Yes it will. Most parts interchange exect electrical parts.

Yup :) Ive owned both quads basically the 250x became the 300ex in late 80's early 90's. ( dont know exact year )
.
the 300ex frame has more gussets to add strength.
.
the front wheel hubs on the 300ex have a larger bolt pattern than the 250x front wheel hubs.
.
the motors are almost identical
.
same stock bore. 300 has longer stroke
.
kick start 250x vs electric start 300ex
.
changes the side covers and flywheel.
.
other than that and electrical witch changes lots through the years.
.
Pretty much everything else is interchangeable.
.
Here is my 86 250x W 77 KZ650 motor

It is possible to put the kicker parts from a 250x on a 300 ex motor.
.
Some guys do this to shave weight for racing.
.
Judging by the race fearing on the front.
.
race cut fenders on the rear, and the radical paint job.
.
Id say there is a good chance this mod may have been preformed on your 300
.
ps I'd put some header wrap on that dg header. It will fry your leg
.
Iv'e got the scar to prove it
( you can get it form any auto parts store )

good advice but you got a couple things wrong. 88 and up 250x has the same front bolt pattern as 300ex.
very few things electrical will interchange.

Lastly...are you 100% sure that's an 86 model? If it is thats the first one I've ever seen.

btw...300ex came out in 93. I bought one.

Also....looking at your motor, that looks like a 300ex with a kicker added. Here is a couple of ways to tell.

Look at the upper right and side of the head. 250x had a decompresion leaver there. It conected to a cable that ran to the kick starter. Also...look behind the jug just under the carb. Do you see a starter or a place for one?

no place for a starter, but it does have a place for a decompression cable
