250R or EX?

so heres what i just picked up and it looks like a darn ninja turtle,
looking at the vin number tells me its a 2002 300ex but the engine is a 250. can anyone shine some light on this im in need of a new clutch lever and all the cable that go to it.... ebay has the cables but since im new to the big boy world of ATVs vs my 212cc swap i did to a mini ATV found here http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=447411

Its an aircooled 250 moter I'm guessing the 250X if it's a honda, but I'm no expert on the sub350cc category.. def. not a 250r motor, they are 2 stroke/liquids for the most part

Yes, air cooled 4 stroke

the "R" is a liquid 2 stroke.. big difference too, lol.

[250ex 2010]

250x's were 300ex's with a 250 motor in it. but not the same motor as in the 250ex. It is basicallly just a 300ex with a smaller bore. everything else is the same.
