Will a 450r brake caliper bolt right on to my 400ex?

That caliper itself will not. The 450R has a smaller rotor than the 400 and the 400 rotor will be too big for the 450R caliper. Also I think the brake stay is designed differently, I'm not positive on that one though.

You need the caliper mount bracket, rotor, rotor hub, caliper, and pads if I remember correctly.
