Im new to this site and looking for info! Seems to be alot on here. Where can i find a good used header if possible? Have many mods to my 99 but im not sure what i'll gain. Ive heard i'll lose bottom end and gain top end. let me know what ya think. i'm sure its an old subject to you guys but help out the new guy thanks!!!

The 400ex has a pretty decent stock header IMO. I've heard of people grinding down the welds inside of the header for more flow. Check the parts for sale forum on here or ebay.

I got a powerbomb header off craigslist. Turned out to be someone I knew a few years back and I got it for $35 :p

But I did notice a slight difference when I when from slip on (Yoshimura) stock filter to slip on, header, no lid and a UNI. Also went from a 152.5 main to a 155. I could probably still go higher.

A 400ex header with or without weld's is all anyone need's, unless you go custom, aftermarket header gain's arent extremely great.

Ebay is the best place to buy that stuff, unless you can find a part out on Craigslist.

a full sparks exhaust compared to the stock header is a world of difference. Yeah you can grind the welds down and get a little more from a stock header, but there's no comparing a quality aftermarket full system to the stock pipes on the 400ex.
