i am thinking about buying a 250 r quad for restoration and am concerned that it may be too small for me.i have ridden one briefly in the past but cant remember what it was like and i have sat on one at a dealer recently but just sitting on one it is hard to tell what it would be like to ride it for an extended period of time.if there are any taller riders who own a 250 r i would like to hear from you,i am 6'4" myself so i want to be sure that i am not too cramped.

Hey man i am 6'2 260 pounds and i ride a 88' 250r with a 310kit and ride better than most the people i ride with im 19 but im 260 pds all muscle, not brag but some people would be thinkin some 260 pound fat *** can't ride better me.nope i i throw my 250r's wher i want them to go in the air i think the height and weight give a advantage sometimes if you got the extra motor work to compenste for it. i did extend the swing arms on all my quads to compensatefor the height. Notice how i add suspension and motor work to all my quads to compensate for my height and weight.
1. 2000 416ex works shocks +2 lonestar swingarm ect.....
2.88 310r works shocks +2 leager swingarm ect.....
3.86 250r elkas shocks +6 leager swingarm 22" haulers
in process of building strictly for sand and hill climbs
4.1993 300ex tring to put 400 motor in it along with
400 a arms, swingarm, and plastics

I'm 6'2" 214, I know the deminsions on a 250r and 400ex are close, I don't have problems being cramped up and I can really manhandle the bike too. You may want to invest into a +1 steering stem though.

I'm 6'2" at 260 and ride my 400ex (similar size) and also a friend's 87' 250r with no problems at all. I just use bars that are stock height to clear my legs in tight corners.

I have a friend that I ride with and he is 6'6" 280bl and he says the 250r is good for him, he likes it on the trails, plus he races mx on it.

6'2" - no problems at all. I wouldn't want to ride anything else...

And I bought it from a friend several years back that was 6'7" and he rode it with no problems...

I have a 250x which is close to yours. I am 6'2'' and I am a little bit cramped but nothing to complain about. I like it like that becasuse i can move the quad around easier.

The 250r isn't a "small" quad like the blaster or 250x. Most 250r's sit lower than a 400EX, but that's because the two-stroke engine doesn't need as much space.

If you feel cramped on a 250r, I think you'd also feel cramped on a 400EX, Z400, Banshee, and even the Raptor. Even though the Raptor is taller, there isn't much difference between the pegs, seat, and handlebar placement on all these quads.

I would even go so far as to say that only the DS650 has a bigger "feel"
