Like the title says....went to wash her today and saw this..... how much stress is this area under....is it rideable till i can source funds for a new case...and how much is involved in replacing the case....im a diesel mechanic by trade and have built 1200hp pulling motors before so i have the skills....just never done a quad motor

That looks like a picture of some melted yellow fender plastic on the end of the header, how is that a problem?

Take a look at the swingarm where it goes thru the motor

if that was mine i would rip it all down and strip that case to nothing. and tig all that missing material back with filler rod and grind it back to shape.

if that isnt an option, buy a new right case.

and if your are truly a diesel mechanic this should be a joke for you. you can have these things down the crank in no time.

Thats too much material for me to tig and have peace of mind with....

I am a diesel mechanic and have a full fab shop...i can supply proof if needed.

Ive just never torn one of these motors apart.

Anything thats usually addressed with these? Its supposedly been rebuilt by the local dealership... if im gonna split it im gpnna address any known issues

Oh wow, I didn't notice that. Yea that is a big issue, and I think your best option would be to buy a new case with that much material gone. These things are stupid simple, even in the bottom end. If you want some reassurance you can get a shop manual, then you can't go wrong.

Well im gonna source a new case....what all should i replace? Jist crank bearings or

Just check everything out and look for signs of wear on everything.

Any good gasket sets and rebuild kits of its needed

OEM gaskets are fine. And there really isn't anything that needs re-built in the bottom end.

Id say you could get away tig welding it. Get some billet and tig it right to the case or use filler rod. . Much easier time than replacing the cases.
