TRX 450R Engine Case question

I just bought at 2005 TRX 450R has new jug piston and head however. I notice alot of metal in the oil probably due to the head goign bad. I also noticed that on the left side of the case where the front Timing chain guide sits in a J or U shaped spot on the case the U part is broken. I think that with it being bolted and pressed aginst by the chan it will hold in place however what does everyone else think?

are you sure the metal isn't from a bad bearing? it might be left over from the previous rebuild but be careful

as far as the broken guide mount, it could be a major issue if it does move.... that would definitely have me worried..

I wouldn't be able to trust it.. but im sure others wouldn't have any problem running it, but i couldn't enjoy riding wondering if or when it was going to fail


I would personally tear it down and fix and check everything, before everything gets ruined

it doesn't take but a couple hours to split the cases and check everything
