There use to be a guy on ebay that sold a billet aluminum intake spacer plate that fit between the head and the carb intake for around $25.00 bucks. He claimed it added power, and helped the fuel mix better with the air. I got it when I first got my 400 looking for cheap ways to make it faster! I did not really notice anything, but it did make the air box boot fit much better. The next time I pull my carb off to clean, I will take a pic for you guys. I don't see it listed on ebay right now, but I will do some research to see if I can find out who the seller was. You could buy a used head to carb intake adapter for under thirty bucks and cut the rubber boot off and have the same basic spacer that he fabricates.
