http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-CRU-Manual-Cam-Chain-Tensioner-Honda-TRX-400-400EX-/250995794066?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a7083e092&vxp=mtr

I found this crusing ebay. Did some research, didnt see anything about it (good or bad) I bought one anyway.

I bought a cheap 01 400ex last week for the aftermarket parts that are on it, full exhaust, cam, ims tank ect ect... I was told the timing chain was bad. Once I got into the motor I found the tensioner was bad and it has an upgraded chain. Also one wrist pin clip was gone so the wrist pin slid to one side, junking the cylinder.

Im going to be putting my stock top end out of my 06 in it. So the question is, do I keep the manual tensioner for my 06, or stick it in the one im going to be selling

I havent personally heard of too many issues with them. BUT and a big BUT its now up to the rider to make sure everythings in check, it isnt your sol. Id stick it on the one you plan on selling.

Well, it was $20 cheaper than a new hydraulic tensioner... so Ill take that as 20 bucks profit and stick it in the one im going to sell

I didnt really want to tear into my 06 anyway, Ive got the thing tuned in so good I hate to touch it.... It whoops my buddies tuned 450r, and I never work on mine:D
